Benoy appoints former MP Mark Prisk as Strategic Advisor

Benoy is delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Prisk, former Minister of State for Business & Enterprise 2010 – 2012 and Minister of State for Housing 2012 – 2013, as Strategic Advisor to the Board.

In this role, Mark will draw upon his considerable political and real estate experience to support the CEO in driving the business forward in both the UK and overseas. He will work with the Board to provide a strategic overview of political, economic and commercial issues that could impact the business, helping give context to strategic decisions. With significant experience of local planning and policy, Mark will also assist Benoy and its clients in navigating the UK’s complex planning regulations.

A Chartered Surveyor with a BSc in Land Management from the University of Reading, Mark ran his own business for ten years before entering politics. He was elected as MP for Hertford & Stortford in 2001 and in the 18 years he served his constituency, Mark contributed enormously to his community from securing £4m for the installation of superfast broadband across Hertfordshire, to improving health services in Bishop’s Stortford, Ware and Hertford and reducing the time Network Rail planned to take on the Hertford North to Stevenage services works from seven years to just 18 months.

Since leaving Government in 2013, Mark has served on the Housing, Communities and Local Government Select Committee. In 2014 he was appointed as the Prime Minister’s Trade & Investment Envoy to the Nordic & Baltic nations and in 2016 also to Brazil.

Commenting on the appointment, Tom Cartledge, CEO, Benoy said: I’m thrilled that Mark is joining us and I’m confident he will add great value to our business in the coming months. Not only does he understand our sector and client base, but he also brings an impressive working knowledge of the changing political environment in which we operate. As our representative, Mark will help to connect us with others, especially in government and industry, giving us greater engagement with senior influencers and stakeholders.”
