Closing out MAPIC 2019; awards, talks, and meetings
MAPIC World 2019 is drawing to a close, and it’s been a busy and successful week in Cannes for the Benoy team.
Mike Wilson-MacCormack spoke on the Snapshot Middle East Panel, discussing the latest from the Middle East and GCC markets. Mike offered insight into how the standard “shopping mall” is no longer enough, and how the challenge now is to integrate retail, living, working, and play all in the same place. This shift in expectation is driven by a new understanding of current and future generations; catering to what the ‘Gen As’ and ‘Gen Zs” want, need, and say.
At the MAPIC Awards, we thrilled to have Iconsiam named as the ‘Best Shopping Centre’; a huge achievement for a scheme that has become a major attraction for Siam Piwat and the city of Bangkok. We’re proud to have designed the interiors for the retail components of the scheme.
Barry Hughes worked as a juror for the MAPIC Awards, and presented the ‘Best Retail Concept’ award to the French food retailer NOUS épiceries anti-gaspi. Congratulations!
A hugely enjoyable few days, we look forward to next year. If you’d like to follow up with any member of the team or reach out and connect, please email enquiries@benoy.com.
