The company began it’sjourneyin 2010 in India with the investment of G58--850kW turbine assembly plant in Redhills, Chennai. Gamesa later in 2013 inaugurated the state of the art nacelle assembly facility at Mamandur, in Chennai with an annual production capacity of over 1500MW. This facility caters to the growing demand of the wind power capacity in the country with its new G97-2.0MW & G114-2.0MW wind turbine. The company also ensured a prompt and impeccable service to all its customers through the state of the art Integrated Service & Monitoring Center at Redhills, Chennai. In 2011, Gamesa has set up its blade manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat and a Joint Venture for Tower manufacturing in Gujarat.

As Gamesa India moved swiftly, it was evident that winds were high in the lands of Sri Lanka and the company had a strategic entry into the country in 2010. Gamesa is the Market leader in Sri Lanka with 45.3 MW of commissioned wind projects in the country.

Drawing its expertise from wind, Gamesa India entered into Solar business in 2015 offering a wide spectrum of Solar EPC Solutions spanning across Utility Scale, Rooftops & Micro Grids backed by its robust Photovoltaic Inverters ranging from Gamesa E - 100kW to Gamesa E – 1.4MVA. As of today, Gamesa India has commissioned 68MW of solar power projects in India & is currently executing a few large projects in India & Sri Lanka.
