Siemens Gamesa is a leading provider of wind power products and solutions to customers around the globe. The company has installed products and technology in more than 90 countries, with a total installed base of close to 85 GW. Siemens Gamesa offers one of the industry’s broadest product portfolios, with both offshore and onshore technology as well as industry-leading service solutions, helping to make clean energy more affordable and reliable. The united company was created in 2017. Previously, Siemens Wind Power’s history in the wind industry dates back to the early 1980s, and Gamesa’s to 1994.

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Power Private Limited is one of the largest renewable energy solution providers in India. Since inception, the company has successfully commissioned projects over 5500 MW in India and SriLanka. In 2016-17, the company reached the milestone of installing 2000 MW in a single financial year, the only OEM to achieve this feat in Indian wind industry. Siemens Gamesa’s operating fleet of wind farms is spread across 7 states with Sales and Operations offices in 6 locations and 38 site offices spread across seven states in the country. The company currently employs around3000 personnel in thecountry.

The company began its journey in 2009 in India with the investment of G58-850kW turbine assembly plant in Redhills, Chennai. In 2011, Siemens Gamesa set up its blade manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat and a Joint Venture for Tower manufacturing in Gujarat. Siemens Gamesa later in 2013 inaugurated the state of the art nacelle assembly facility at Mamandur, in Chennai with an annual production capacity of over 2000MW. This facility caters to the growing demand of the wind power capacity in the country with its new G97-2.0MW & G114-2.0MW wind turbine. In 2016, Siemens Gamesa has set up its integrated manufacturing facility at Nellore, Andhra Pradesh which is equipped to manufacture the complete value chain of wind business and PV central inverters for our solarbusiness.

Drawing its expertise from wind, Siemens Gamesa India entered into Solar business in 2015 offering a wide spectrum of Solar EPC Solutions. As of today, Siemens Gamesa India has commissioned over 400 MW of solar power projects in India & SriLanka and is currently executing a few large projects in India. Siemens Gamesa also manufactures highly advanced Inverters for the grid connected Solar power.

With the commissioning of 20 MW solar power project in 2017 in Sri Lanka, SGRE became the No.1 renewable energy solutions provider in the country with the cumulative installed base of 65 MW (45MW wind power projects.

India continues to be a significant market for Siemens Gamesa and the company is well positioned to meet the country’s ambitious renewable energy targets.
