Mr ShaanAkerkar holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from IIT (ISM), Dhanbad. Prior to working at Beckers Group, Mr Akerkar held the position of an Associate at Kakode and Associates, handling the techno-economic viability of major projects in and around Mumbai area. As the Global Sustainability Scientist at Beckers Group, Berlin, Mr Akerkar has developed the Beckers Sustainability Index in conjunction with Mr James Maxted, International Development Chemist, to drive business decisions coupled by sustainability. He has driven the shift to report as per GRI standards for entire Beckers group and has developed the Beckers Sustainability Policy in line with the global standard. Mr Akerkar is also responsible for setting MBOs for site managers across Beckers' sites worldwide, managing the group's climate footprint analysis and ensuring a green Beckers as a supplier to our customers via Ecovadis. Mr Akerkar is currently working to introduce Science Based targets into Beckers Group to develop visionary goals for the company and also manage the green energy portfolio of the company.
