Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association

Mr Giri has been with the wind industry for more than two decades and he is currently the Secretary General for Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association.

In his career spanning well over 40 years, Mr Giri has been associated with very many diversified industries which include Steel, Fertilizer, Glassfiber and tyre/tyre cord.

The Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) is the only industrial body representing the country’s wind turbine manufacturers and providing single point contact for policy makers at National and State levels, Regulatory Bodies and Utilities. IWTMA’s main objective is to promote wind energy in India, facilitate the extension of knowledge in the field and interacts with national and global wind energy bodies.

Mr Giri has been actively involved in strategic planning and growth of the wind power sector in India. He has been responsible for many initiatives in the wind power sector like Real Time Forecasting, promotion of Green Collar Jobs, creation of a pool of skilled manpower through collaboration with Universities and Colleges etc. He is also currently involved in promoting supply chain in India.

Mr Giri is also a member of the Governing Council and the R&D Council of Centre for Wind Energy Technology, an independent body working under the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy responsible for testing and certifying turbines, wind resource assessment, research and development activities.

Mr Giri has travelled extensively both in India and abroad and has interest in Religion and Philosophy.

Mr Giri holds Post Graduate Degree in Management and is from an illustrious family of lawyers, politicians, artists and thinkers.
