Arun started his career in the waste management industry in the UK working on projects involving mechanisation and compaction technologies. From design of compaction equipment to automated Material Recovery Facility (MRF), Arun has core competencies in use of mechanization for recovery of resource from waste. Following this, Arun setup a reverse logistics system for recycling of Thermocol (EPS) waste in Bangalore.
Arun leads the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) vertical. SZW is one of the first movers in this space with ongoing projects for marquee brands. Through such EPR projects, various types of packaging waste are brought back into the circular economy with a keen focus on upgrading the informal workforce to a formal approach. Arun has also recently conceptualized and executed an MRF in Bangalore for aggregation and processing of dry municipal waste. The MRF is designed to ensure a right mix of mechanization and man-power to help provide livelihood while maximizing resource recovery from waste.
