With a career spanning over a decade, he has established strong technical expertise by working in cross industrial and multi-facetedareas of sustainability, governance, safety and health management.
His brain child initiative My Safety Index (MSI), has emerged as one of the vital national level safety standards which proved its effectiveness across sites in India. MSI is now an established Global Safety Standard by setting a leading benchmark in improvising safety procedures across sites in 3 continents Europe, South America and North America. Thakur has curated diverse initiatives significant in the realm of Watershed Assessment, Source Water Vulnerability Assessment, and Source Water Protection Plant, My Health Index (MHI)and Sustainable Packaging. All of which resonates his strong professional and technicalexpertise in setting safety, management, and sustainability systems. He is now in the process of launching strategic sustainability initiatives such as Sustainability Ambassadors, Circular Economy, Water Neutrality and Sustainable Production and Consumption. He is presently a resource faculty for the Institute of Directors (IOD) on the subject of Corporate Sustainability.
As a result of his accomplishments in the domain, ata very young age, he was conferred with the prestigious “Rising Star of Safety” by the National Safety Council of USA, at Chicago in 2013. He was awarded as the “Ultimate Innovator” by world-wide EHS Amazon in 2018.He has been conferred as one of the “Most Impactful EHS Professional”in 2017.
For Thakur, the zeal of learning and knowledge continues to co – exist along with his professionalexperience. His endeavour to gain multi-disciplinary insights are reflected in academic pursuance, he holds a B.Tech in Dairy Technology, is a certified Lead Auditor in OHS, internationally accredited with National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH), and has successfully completed education in diverse disciplines such as Environmental Law by ICFAI, Integrated Watershed Development and Management by Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Board, Government of India, NPO Governance, CPA- FMSF India and very recently Executive Education on Communication Strategies for Leaders from the premier institutes of India, IIM Ahmedabad in 2019.
He is an eloquent speaker, and as University student was awarded with First Rank for his meritorious performance in Youth Parliament, debate competitions by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India. He currently resides in Hyderabad with a doting wife and lovely daughters and plays table tennis during his leisure time.
