Born in 1953, Bhaskaran Rajam Ajit is the son of late Dr. K.B. Unnithan (former Director, Coir Board) and the great grandson of Late Shri. Nanu Pillai, the erstwhile Diwan of the then Travancore State in Kerala.

He launched his own Architectural Firm, M/S. Ajit Associates, in Cochin, in the year 1978. He is the Consultant Architect to various prestigious organizations, both Governmental and Non-Governmental. Besides his other ventures in the field of Real Estate, Tourism, IT and Publishing , he is also the Chairman of ASADI (Asian School of Architecture and Design Innovations), his dream project, located in a beautiful island in Cochin, Kerala.
  • Chairman of Cochin Chapter of the Indian Green Building Council since January 2009 and also the Chairman for the National Committee for Green Interior Ratings.
  • Resource person and expert Architect to the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Department of Power, Government of India.
  • Advisor to the State Planning Board for Sustainable Buildings.
  • He is also the Chairman and Chief Editor of a popular magazine called B For Building.
  • Recipient of several awards like the McMillan Woods Global Award for “Global Innovative Personality of the Year”, Rajiv Gandhi National Unity Award, the Udyog Excellence Award, the Hind Rattan Award, Citation for Meritorious Service by Rotary Foundation, the Rotary International President’s Golden Century Citation Award, the highest award of Rotary International – “The Service above Self” Award in 1999 – 2000 and the “Energy Efficient & Eco-friendly building Designer/Developer” for the year 2011-12.
He served as the District Governor in 1992-93 of Rotary International District 3201 comprising of parts of Kerala and Tamil Nadu and was the District representative to the Council on Legislation held in April 2007 at Chicago, USA.

He is married to Devi who is also actively involved in various social welfare activities. They are blessed with a daughter, Ammu, son-in-law Mr Santhosh and an eight year old grandson, Aaryan.
